Elderly Outreach

Pines Senior Living Center, Valparaiso, IN 

Bi-monthly our church members and their families visit the Pines Senior Living Center in Valparaiso for a 30-minute singing. The residents pick their favorite hymns from our hymnals, and we sing along together with the piano. We end with a scripture reading and short exhortation by one of our ministers. 

Parkview Haven Nursing Center, Francesville, IN 

A few times a year we facilitate a short church service at the Parkview Haven Nursing Center in Francesville, IN. These services occur on Sunday mornings and on Tuesday evenings. 

Our sisters also cook a special meal for the nursing home residents each year in August. The residents look forward to a break in their routine and enjoy inviting a guest to join them for this special meal.

At Christmas time the nursing home has a Christmas party for the residents. They ask for volunteers to shop for gifts that have been requested by the residents.

Coffee hour is a time to volunteer to do a small activity or program for the residents on a weekday morning at the nursing home.
